Skin wolves are great, but at 24 models they don't have the sheer stopping power of something like Phoenix Guard or Black Guard. They also have a strange issue where their anti-large really isn't as great as you'd think. Norsca does not having the staying power of the VCs or GS (no heavily armoured hard hitting infantry, though champions can get pretty insane armour/MD from upgrades, nor access to healing) nor do they have great ranged. After that I invaded the donut, stole the SoK, and from that point it was pretty much impossible for me to lose. From there I took my armies down the Bretonnian coast to completely eliminate them, then took out Tilea and lucked out on the Tileans having already captured Skavenblight. I personally just took Altdorf, razed a few lands until the VCs settled them, and then fucked off back to Norsca to take out Throgg and unite the North. You can then try to get involved in the shitfest that is the Silver Road by taking out the VCs and then the Dwarfs.
You can cosy up to Kemmler by doing this, though keeping your second lord back at Couronne may be advisable as the Red Duke is much less agreeable than Kemmler (not to mention unlucky declaration of war from Chrace and other Bretonnian factions). Due to the victory conditions (and the recent buffs to the Empire), I'd recommend beelining for Reikland and destroying them ASAP. This is likely not something many will agree with, but I found getting Couronne to T4 essential and was willing to sacrifice the loot/sack bonus over it.įrom here onwards, it's up to you. For your next lord, I personally recommend upgrading the blue line first, specifically upgrading the growth bonuses first. Going into the red is inevitable as Norsca, but I personally found things manageable even with just Wulfrik up until turn 20 or so. It also gives you a base to replenish off as you prepare for your next likely target: Reikland.ĭue to Norsca's terrible economy, you'll have Wulfrik until you capture Couronne after which you can recruit another lord.

You can stack unit rank upgrade buildings to the point that at tier 4, you will be spamming rank 9 units. Couronne is a 6 (or 8?) building settlement, and the other region is a port. Taking Couronne is important because of it gives you a huge FOB. Your berserkers will mulch through any Bretonnian infantry your spears are there to hold against cavalry spam and can still hold against infantry your skirmishers are there to draw Bretonnian armies into attacking into your fortified position and the wolves are used to collapse on flanks/bowmen/tied up cavalry. I recommend invading with a stack of berserkers and spears, 2 units of hunters, 2 units of throwing axe horsemen, 2 units of ice wolves, and the rest being skin wolves. This is a bit harder than before: Louen now starts on a mount (all lords and paladins do now) and are a lot trickier to tie down. The AI will begin confederating the other Bretonnian lands and will begin the inevitable Couronne snowball. Secondly, you need to be wiping out Couronne before turn 30 at the latest.
Norsca is bigger than it looks and traversing the lands takes a lot of movement you do NOT want to have the western provinces of Norsca exposed to the DEs. As many people will have figured out, uniting the North is a death sentence. Getting to him quickly is important because you need to make sure he doesn't absorb other tribes, especially the Helspire.
Firstly, to knock out Surtha Ek as soon as possible so you can secure his mammoth. As Wulfrik, you have two main objectives. The early game is the most crucial part of the Norscan campaign.
